Kofu City is one of the neighboring municipalities of Showa Town in Nakakoma District. Located close to the center of Kofu City, and home to an industrial park, Showa Town's population is on the rise. As a result, some areas within the town have been developed into residential areas. Redevelopment has also been implemented in response to the opening of large commercial facilities. The town's festivals and events include the Furusato Festival, Summer Evening, the Misaki Shrine Festival, and the Yahata Hatsuho Festival. Another popular tourist spot in the town is Fukasawa Onsen, a day-trip bathing facility with easy access. The water is chloride-based. The Sugiura Folklore Museum and Hospital are also essential tourist attractions.
