Hayakawa Town in Minamikoma District, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Japan," is home to a variety of valleys and waterfalls, large and small, which change beautifully with the seasons. The town is also rich in hot springs, with numerous hot spring facilities within the town, attracting many visitors from across the country. Among these is Keiunkan, known as the world's oldest inn, which has also been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. Blessed with such abundant nature, Hayakawa Town produces many local specialties that make use of the natural environment, including Southern Alps ham, wild grape wine, and wild honey. Festivals that make use of nature are also held throughout the town, including the Southern Alps Wild Vegetable Festival and the Southern Alps Autumn Leaves and Buckwheat Festival.
