Waki Town, Kuga District, is the easternmost town on the mainland of Yamaguchi Prefecture, located at the mouth of the Oze River on the right bank, which forms the border with Hiroshima Prefecture. It is surrounded by Iwakuni City to the south, and to the east is lowland, including reclaimed and reclaimed land where the town's main public facilities are located. The rest of the area is mostly mountainous, with settlements formed in the tributaries of the Oze River. The town's main industry is heavy chemicals, and it occupies a corner of the Setouchi Industrial Region. Thanks to tax revenues from these industries, the town has ample financial resources, allowing kindergartens, elementary schools, and junior high schools to provide free school lunches. The town is home to numerous historical sites, including the Sanbuichi Gennojo Monument, the Sanshu Shrine Ruins Monument, and the Yonemoto Hiroemon Monument, making it a popular tourist spot.
