Hikari City borders five cities and towns in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Tabuse River and Shimada River flow through the city, and tranquil countryside stretches across the northern part. The city is blessed with abundant nature and many tourist attractions. At Nijigahama Beach, with its white sand and green pine coastline, you can enjoy boat sailing and camping. Kanmuriyama Comprehensive Park, where plants bloom throughout the seasons, is ideal for nature observation. The Haginodaira Observatory offers a panoramic view of Seto Inland Sea National Park, and from Zobigasaki Cape you can view the Mount Emei Forest, a nationally designated natural monument. Local specialties include plums, butterbur miso, and yuzu miso.
