Shirataka Yana Park, a tourist spot, permanently installs a fishing trap called a yana, which is used to catch river fish, to preserve fishing techniques and as a tourist resource for catching fallen ayu. The Shirataka Ayu Festival is also held here every September. Other popular tourist spots include the Kannonji Kannon Hall, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property; the Okitama Cherry Blossom Corridor; Shirataka Sky Park; Ayugai Hachiman Shrine; and Takanoyu Hot Springs.
