Kimino Town, Kaiso District, which was established through a merger in 2006, is located within easy reach of Osaka and Wakayama by train or bus. The annual Oishi Plateau Mountain Opening Ceremony in late April has become a town-wide event. Climbing to the top of Oishi Plateau Mountain allows you to experience the expanse of lush natural surroundings. In autumn, the entire area is covered in Japanese pampas grass, creating a completely different landscape from that seen in early spring. National Route 307, which is used to travel to the sacred Mount Koya, has been reborn as Melody Road. Its name has also been changed to the famous Koya Nishi Kaido, and a beautiful melody plays as you pass by. This is the first attempt of its kind in Honshu.
