Katsuragi Town in Ito District, Wakayama Prefecture, has its water source in the Kino River, and can easily travel to and from Nara Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture via national highways. In addition to the national highway, the JR Wakayama Line also runs through the town, making transportation convenient. Hydrangeas and sweet osmanthus are symbols of the area. In 2008, the town began recruiting mascots and conducting PR activities to further promote the area nationwide. Unique characters such as Strawberry Princess, Grandpa Pear, and Princess Peach have been active at events. Nibutohime Shrine and Koyasan Town Stone Path are tourist attractions in the area, both registered as World Heritage Sites.
