About Yurihama Town
Yurihama Town, Tohaku District, Tottori Prefecture, is located in the center of the prefecture, facing the Sea of Japan. It was formed in 2004 through the merger of one village and two towns, including Ugo Town. Many historical buildings remain within the town, and the town's mascot, the heavenly maiden Yuririn, was born from the legend of the heavenly maiden that is passed down at Hagoromoishi Castle. There are also many other tourist attractions, including hot springs and beaches. Yurihama Town, Tohaku District, is famous for its 20th Century Pear, a specialty product that has been attracting attention on TV and in magazines in recent years, and is known for producing some of the most delicious pears in Tottori Prefecture. Tomarizuke, made by pickling whole Gengobei watermelons, which boast the highest production volume in Japan, is also popular, and has won numerous awards for its refreshing flavor.
