About Shibuya Ward

Shibuya Ward in Tokyo was formed by the merger of Sendagaya and Shibuya. Around the Yamanote Line station, there are many fashion department stores such as Tokyu Department Store and Parco, and the area is known as a trendsetting district, with 109 shopping mall in front of Shibuya Station bustling with young people. There is a bronze statue of Hachiko in front of Shibuya Station, and it is a famous meeting spot in Shibuya. The adjacent scramble intersection is also extremely busy, with people passing through at any time of the day. There are also many IT-related companies and internet-based venture businesses. Because there are so many companies in this area, it has a large population, but surprisingly few people actually live there.
