About Nerima Ward
Nerima Ward in Tokyo separated from Itabashi Ward in 1947 and became an independent city. Originally a thriving farming village, it has developed into the urban area it is today. Nerima Ward's main specialties are cabbage, Nerima vegetable dumplings, and the Nerima radish, named after the area. The Nerima Festival is held every year on the third Sunday of October. A parade takes place on Marronnier Street, where you can see performances by a variety of people with elaborate costumes, and dishes made with local produce are served at the central venue. Shakujii Park is also a representative park in the area, and you can even take a boat ride on the pond within the park, making it a popular destination for couples and families.
