Minato Ward in Tokyo was formed by the merger of several towns. Located between high ground and lowlands, the area has an overall undulating cityscape. As the central business district of Japan, it is lined with high-rise buildings such as Roppongi Hills and is home to many workers. There are also many embassies and foreign companies near Roppongi, so it is said that around 10% of the area's residents are foreign nationals. One of Minato Ward's tourist attractions is Tokyo Tower, which was built in 1958. Now that a second radio tower, Tokyo Skytree, has been built, there are fewer tourists than when it was still in operation, but it is still visited by many people as a symbol of Tokyo.
