Kokubunji City is a transportation hub in the Tama region. It is served by the JR Chuo Line, Musashino Line, Seibu Kokubunji Line, and Seibu Tamako Line. Thanks to its convenient access to central Tokyo, it is becoming increasingly popular as a commuter town. Its specialty is "Tokyo Udo," and there are many farms in the city that cultivate and sell it. Blueberry production is also thriving, with many blueberry-based sweets and other items on sale. Kokubunji City is also home to many popular tourist spots rich in nature, including the Tonogayato Gardens, Musashi-Kokubunji Park, and Manyo Botanical Garden. The Otaka Road and Masugata Pond Springs, selected as one of Japan's 100 Famous Waters, are also famous.
