Hino City is known as the birthplace of Hijikata Toshizo, the famous vice-commander of the Shinsengumi, and Inoue Genzaburo, commander of the 6th squad. The city boasts numerous Shinsengumi-related museums, including the Shinsengumi Hometown History Museum. The Hino Shinsengumi Festival is held on the second Saturday and Sunday of May. Tama Zoological Park, where you can encounter a variety of animals, is also a popular tourist spot, bustling with families on weekends.
