Adachi Ward in Tokyo is located in the northernmost part of the city and is surrounded entirely by rivers. Its main specialties are edamame and summer chrysanthemums, with lush, sweet edamame being harvested in the summer. Adachi Ward's main attractions are Senjujuku, the former Nikko Kaido, and Nishiarai Daishi. Senjujuku and the former Nikko Kaido were areas with a population of 10,000 during the Edo period, and were bustling with travelers.
