Yoshinogawa City is located in northeastern Tokushima Prefecture, on the southern bank of the Yoshino River. It was formed in 2004 through the merger of three towns and one village, becoming the fifth city in Tokushima Prefecture. The Yoshino River is also known as Shikoku Saburo, and its basin is blessed with abundant nature throughout the seasons, including fireflies and large colonies of azaleas. The city is also working to preserve its history, traditions, and culture while continuing to develop. Within the city, you'll find the ruins of a medieval castle, Kamizakura Castle Ruins, located in Kamizakura, Kuwamura, Kawajima Town. This spot offers a panoramic view of the plains of the Yoshino River's midstream basin, as well as remains of the castle walls. The Misato Product Center also offers a chance to sample the delicious flavors of Misato, including local specialties like plums, yuzu, and sudachi, as well as handmade soba noodles and handmade set meals.
