About Naruto City
Naruto City is one of Tokushima Prefecture's leading tourist destinations, boasting numerous tourist attractions, including the Naruto Whirlpools, Naruto Park, and the Naruto German House. It also has the characteristics of a corporate castle town, with numerous factories and businesses located within the city. Naruto specialties include Naruto Kintoki sweet potatoes and Naruto wakame seaweed. Otani ware, a traditional craft, is also produced here. The city is also home to the first temple of the 88 Shikoku temples, and pilgrims can be seen in the city every day. In addition to being part of Tokushima Prefecture, Naruto City borders Higashikagawa City in Kagawa Prefecture, and is also adjacent to Minamiawaji City in Hyogo Prefecture, separated by the Naruto Strait.
