Currently, Sanagouchi Village in Meito District remains the only village in Tokushima Prefecture. Sanagouchi Village in Meito District is known for its sudachi and peach strawberries. The sudachi has even been selected as the village's tree. The village is home to numerous mountains, including Asahigamaru and Furutayama, and rivers such as the Sonose River and the Saga River. Neighboring municipalities include Tokushima City and Kamiyama Town. The village is home to the Okawahara Wind Farm, a wind power plant selected as one of Japan's 100 New Energy Sources and a famous landmark. Other notable sites include Tokuenji Temple, Okawahara Plateau, and the Wildlife Interaction Village. Okawahara Plateau has been selected as one of Tokushima's 88 scenic views.
