About Tsurugi Town
Tsurugi Town, Mima District, Tokushima Prefecture, is located in the northwestern part of the prefecture, adjacent to Mima City and Miyoshi City. It is blessed with abundant nature, including mountains, rivers, ponds, and waterfalls. The town was formed through a merger in 2005. The town's designated tree is the Chinese hackberry, its flower the daffodil, and its bird the varied tit. Tourist attractions include Oyasu Park, a popular cherry blossom viewing spot in spring; Totoro Falls Waterfront Park, where visitors can enjoy nature and the waterfall is illuminated from spring to autumn; and Akabane Daishi's Chinese hackberry, a national natural monument. Other attractions include Tsurugiyama Cotton Hot Springs and the former Nagai family village headman's residence. The region's specialty is Handa somen, a product of a long history.
