About Mima City
Mima City, which was created in 2005 through the merger of three surrounding towns and one village, is an area with a variety of distinctive features, including its natural environment and historical culture. It is located in the northwestern region of Tokushima Prefecture and serves as the central city of the prefecture's western region. The Yoshino River flows through the center of town, drawing its water from this river. The coastal area is relatively flat, making it a residential area. Approximately 80% of the town is covered by forest, allowing residents to enjoy a variety of scenery throughout the four seasons, and the Seto Inland Sea climate means that residents can live in a warm climate all year round. Crape myrtles, willows, and great spotted woodpeckers are symbols of this area.
