Kamiita Town in Itano County is known for its production of indigo sukumo (a type of indigo dye), and indigo is designated as the town's flower. It is also famous for its production of Awa Wasanbon sugar, used in high-quality Japanese sweets. It is used in high-quality Japanese sweets nationwide. The Yoshino River and Miyagawachidani River flow through the town, and Mount Oyama, which stands at approximately 691 meters above sea level, is also located here. Anraku-ji Temple, the sixth of the 88 Shikoku Pilgrimage Temples, is a Koyasan Shingon Buddhist temple, and the temple buildings are registered as tangible cultural properties. Other popular tourist attractions in the town include Kamiita Town Family Sports Park, Ashiinaba Shrine, and the Waza-no-Yakata (Technique Hall).
