Nogi Town in Shimotsuga District, Tochigi Prefecture, serves as the southern gateway and a transportation hub. It offers excellent access to major cities like Koga and Oyama. Traditionally, agriculture was the main industry. However, with the development of transportation, the town has become a revitalized commuter town. The town is famous for its sunflowers, and has its own specialty products made with them. Sunflower pie and the famous Himawari Musume sweets are both made with sunflower seeds. The Sunflower Festival is held every July at Nogi's Himawari. Around seven varieties of sunflowers bloom throughout the area, attracting many tourists.
