Otawara City, which merged with other prefectures in Tochigi Prefecture in 2005, is a region blessed with a rich natural environment. The city was established in 2005 through the merger of Yutsukami Village and Kurobane Town. Its main specialties include sweetfish (ayu) and honey. The Yoichi-no-Sato Otawara Sakuyama Summer Fireworks Festival is also held annually. Its Niagara Falls is large-scale and attracts many visitors.
