Kaminokawa Town, Kawachi District, Tochigi Prefecture, is located on the right side of the Kinugawa River. It borders other areas of Tochigi Prefecture on all sides. Numerous Jomon period ruins have been excavated in this area, suggesting that people have lived here since ancient times. The town's symbols include the ginkgo tree, the yugao (evening gourd), and the white heron. The yugao tree in particular has an inseparable connection with the area, as it is the raw material for kanpyo, a specialty of Kaminokawa Town, Kawachi District. The Evening Gourd Summer Festival in Kaminokawa Part 2 Fireworks Display is held every year, attracting many tourists as a summer tradition in the area.
