About Kikugawa City
Kikugawa City was incorporated as a city on January 17, 2005, through the merger of Kikugawa Town and Ogasa Town in Ogasa County. While famous for its tea production, the city also has an industrial side, thanks to the active production of industrial products such as tea picking machines and precision farming machinery. Several industrial parks have been formed within the city, housing over 100 companies. Agriculture is also thriving, with tea, rice, lettuce, strawberries, and other crops produced. Famous attractions include the Kuroda Family Magistrate's Residence, Oseikyoin, and Nishitomida Firefly Village, while city events include the Kikugawa Night Market and the Autumn Festival.
