About Matsuzaki Town
Matsuzaki Town, Kamo District, is located along the southwest coast of Shizuoka Prefecture's Izu Peninsula. Approximately 60% of the town is covered by forests, with the largest cultivated land on the western side of the Izu Peninsula located in the town's center. Located in the heart of the Amagi Mountains, the town is known for its beautiful coastline, designated a national park and a national scenic spot. Since ancient times, the town has developed as a key maritime transportation hub and an important cultural and industrial hub. It borders Nishiizu Town to the north, Kawazu Town and Shimoda City to the east, and Minamiizu Town to the south, and is further surrounded by the Amagi Mountains on three sides. The town is home to numerous historical sites, including the Namako Wall and Kumomi Sengen Shrine, as well as hot springs such as Matsuzaki Onsen and Miura Onsen.
