Much of Higashiizu Town, Kamo District, is covered by forests. Many residential areas are located near the coast in Higashiizu Town, Kamo District, with the Inatori district having the highest population ratio. For this reason, the town hall is located in the Inatori district. Tourism is a thriving industry in the town, and the largest proportion of townspeople are employed in the tourism industry, accounting for nearly 80% of the total. Hot springs such as Okawa Onsen and Inatori Onsen are famous tourist attractions in the town. As a result, there are many hotels, inns, and guesthouses within the town. The town is also home to events such as Hina Doll Hanging Decorations, the Dontsuku Festival, and the Shiokaze Yosakoi Festival.
