Misato Town, Ochi District, is located in the central part of Shimane Prefecture. It was formed in 2004 through the merger of Ochi Village and Yamato Village. The town boasts several hot springs, including the famous Shioyu Onsen and Yudaki Onsen, both of which are rich in salt. Both are surrounded by abundant nature, allowing for relaxing baths. Local specialties include wild boar meat, also known as Ochiyama Kujira, and Ochi Reishi mushrooms, known as functional foods. The town also offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, with the Ochi Canoe Village, which displays rare canoes from around the world, and a campground. Tourist boats operate on the Eno River, which runs through the town, making it a great place for leisure activities on the weekends.
