Masuda City, facing Yamaguchi Prefecture, is surrounded by the Sea of Japan and the Chugoku Mountains. The plains form a delta, thanks in part to the Takatsu River, which originates in the Chugoku Mountains. The climate is stable year-round, with a warm winter thanks to the influence of the Tsushima Current. With little snowfall, people can live without feeling the temperature difference. Along the Sea of Japan are hot spring towns such as Araiso Onsen and Tada Onsen. In the summer, you can enjoy swimming and barbecues, and in the winter, you can relax in the hot springs. Masuda's morning market is a local specialty, with numerous shops selling fresh seafood from 6am.
