About Yasu City
Yasu City was formed in 2004 through the merger of two towns. Located in southern Shiga Prefecture, it lies south of Lake Biwa. Its proximity to Osaka and Kyoto and the JR Tokaido Line make it a popular commuter town. The region enjoys a warm, mild climate with little rainfall, making it pleasant year-round. Myokoji Temple and Mount Kagami tower in the southeastern part of the city, surrounded by lush greenery and a vast lake.
