Ritto City borders six cities in Shiga Prefecture. Previously, the city was surrounded by rural landscapes and tranquil townscapes, but the opening of Ritto Station in 1991 and the construction of the Myojin Expressway's Ritto Interchange led to an increase in population, and residential areas and businesses began to appear. However, with the Yasu River flowing through the city and Mount Konsho towering over it, the city remains blessed with abundant nature. Known as the "Eight Views of Ritto," Taiho Shrine, Shinzenkoji Temple, Rokujizo, Tohosan Anyoji Temple, Ritto Nature Observation Forest, Ritto Training Center, Prefectural Forest, and Konshoji Temple are also well-known tourist attractions. The city's specialty products include figs, melons, Megawa gourds, mugwort rice cakes, and perilla pickles.
