About Taga-cho
Taga Town in Inukami District borders five cities and towns in Shiga Prefecture, as well as Gifu and Mie Prefectures. The Seri River and Inukami River flow through the town, and it is surrounded by numerous mountains, including Mount Reisen and Mount Nabejiri. The Taga Three Shrines, known as Taga Taisha, Kumiya Shrine, and Otaki Shrine, are well-known tourist spots and attract many visitors. A new spot called Kana-Tagamon has opened near Taga Taisha-mae Station, attracting a lot of young people. At Takatoriyama Fureai Park, you can enjoy camping and barbecues. Kawachi no Kazeana, a designated natural monument of Shiga Prefecture, is also a popular tourist spot. Local specialties include itokiri mochi (rice cakes), nabeyaki udon (hot pot noodles), Taga soba (buckwheat noodles), arare (rice crackers), local sake, and chiyomusubi (single-stranded knots).
