About Kora-cho
Kora Town in Inukami District borders four cities and towns in Shiga Prefecture. Located east of Lake Biwa, the town is surrounded by the Inukami River and a tranquil rural landscape. This area is also known as the birthplace of the "Three Great Men of Kora": the Basara Daimyo Doyo, Todo Takatora, and Kora Bungo no Kami Munehiro. Popular tourist attractions include Taga Taisha Shrine, Eigenji Temple, and the Koto Sanzan Mountains. Here, you can enjoy beautiful autumn foliage, as well as wildlife and birds. There is also a hiking trail on Mount Shorakuji, allowing you to climb while admiring the town's tranquil natural scenery. Local specialties include Basara Daimyo tofu, Basara Daimyo soba, and koshihikari rice.
