Higashiomi City lies on the border with Mie Prefecture and has a long, narrow shape. It's an area rich in nature, with rural landscapes visible throughout the city. It's the fifth-largest city in Shiga Prefecture. The climate is relatively mild, with an average annual temperature of around 15°C, but several tens of centimeters of snow can fall in winter, offering a glimpse of diverse scenery throughout the seasons. A recommended spot is Aikyo no Mori Campground. Located in a natural pine forest, you can experience a variety of natural scenery, including cherry blossoms, azaleas, and maples, depending on the season. There's also a river running through the campground, and fishing is available in the mountain stream, making it a fun spot for the whole family.
