Surrounded by lush greenery and magnificent nature, Ryuo Town in Gamo District is a town that has preserved a wealth of history and culture. It is famous for its Ryuo Eight Views, a selection of scenic spots, and from the Agriculture and Forestry Park, you can see the Hira Mountain Range across Lake Biwa in the distance. The town has long been beloved for its historical culture, including Naemura Shrine, a National Treasure where you can learn about ancient architectural techniques; Kagami Shrine, home to a cluster of the town's flower, the "Aembo"; and Ishibe Shrine, with its approach lined with beautiful white sand and green pines. During the spring Sakura Festival in Imose Village, approximately 1,000 cherry trees bloom simultaneously, illuminating the surrounding area. The town also offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including camping and bungalows, as well as a gymnasium and swimming pool.
