About Tokigawa Town
Tokigawa Town, Hiki District, was formed by the merger of Tamagawa Village and Tokigawa Village. Because the Tokigawa River flows through both villages, the town was initially planned to be called Tokigawa Village, but because "Tokigawa" was difficult to read, the hiragana "Tokigawa Town" was chosen. Tourist attractions include the Tokigawa Town Star and Green Creation Center, Tokigawa Hot Springs, Yasuragi no Ie, and the Kunugi Village Experience and Exchange Center. Events include the Tokigawa Momiji Taiko Festival and the Tokigawa Summer Festival. The Sanba Valley offers magnificent natural scenery. Neighboring municipalities include Hanno City, Chichibu City, and Ogawa Town, Hiki District. The town's tree is the mountain maple, its flower is the three-leaved azalea, and its bird is the kingfisher.
