The hilly area east of Hatoyama Town, Hiki District, is home to a newly developed residential area, one of the largest in Saitama Prefecture. Many educational and research institutions are located around this newly developed residential area, creating a new townscape. Local specialties include Hatoyama udon noodles, Hatoyama Shochu Nomai, and Hatoyama Yuai-yaki. Famous places include Oshamojiyama Park and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's Earth Observation Center. While Hatoyama Town, Hiki District, is home to large residential areas, it also has areas with plenty of natural beauty. There are also several golf courses, so you can enjoy a round of golf. The town borders Arashiyama Town and Tokigawa Town.
