Asaka City borders Saitama City and five other cities in Saitama Prefecture, as well as Tokyo's Nerima Ward. The city is blessed with abundant water resources, with the Arakawa River, Kurome River, and Shingashi River flowing through it. Formerly a thriving post town on the Kawagoe Kaido, the city is now home to numerous large corporations and commercial facilities. Agriculture is also thriving, with carrots, radishes, and onions cultivated. Local specialties include miso oden and pickled radishes. Tourist attractions within the city include the Asaka City Museum, Asaka Park, and Hamasaki Kurome Flower Square. The annual Saika Festival coincides with the Kanto Yosakoi Festival, which draws many participants and tourists.
