Taku City in Saga Prefecture borders Saga City and Ogi City. The city tree is the maple and the city flower is the plum. Located almost in the center of the prefecture, it was established through a merger in 1954. The city's mascot is Taku Oji-san. Taku City's specialties include Taku mandarin oranges, Taku Hinohikari rice, and Taku manju. Tourist attractions in the area include Iwaya-sankei Sakura, where you can enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom in spring, Taku Seibyo, designated as a national important cultural property, and Funayama Camp Forest, where you can enjoy barbecues and other activities in the natural surroundings. Events held in September include the Tenzan Memorial Monument Festival and the Shichiro Shrine Gion Festival.
