Kiyama Town, Miyaki District, Saga Prefecture, is located in the eastern part of the prefecture, bordering Tosu City and Fukuoka Prefecture. Formerly a village, it became a town in 1939. The town's mascot is Kiyaman, a character created with the motifs of Kiyama and Akimitsu River, a guardian who protects nature and the castle. Local specialties include persimmons and asparagus. Tourist attractions in the area include Daikozenji Temple, where azaleas bloom in abundance in the spring.
