About Yoshinogari Town
Yoshinogari Town, Kanzaki County, was formed in 2006 through a merger with neighboring municipalities. The town is comprised of mountains and plains. Its natural environment is utilized in its urban development, and it is characterized by its rich historical architecture and rich culture. As the birthplace of tea cultivation in Japan, Yoshinogari has fostered relations between Japan and China through tea. The Yoshinogari Ruins are the largest in the country, and various excavations have been carried out there. The Sacred Tea Festival and Hyogo Festival are annual events held to encourage not only local residents but also neighboring residents to learn about the town's culture. The Yoshinogari Hometown Flame Festival is held in late October. Launched in 1998, the festival boasts impressive, mystical scenery.
