Kumatori Town in Sennan County is home to three universities, including Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences, and the Kyoto University Research Reactor Institute, making it known as a city of academic culture. Its main industries are agriculture and the textile industry. Water eggplants and onions are shipped nationwide, and the textile industry produces towels and cotton spun fabrics. A major tourist spot is Okuyama Ameyama Natural Park, selected as one of Osaka's 100 Green Spots, attracting over 100,000 visitors annually. The town's most famous festival is the Kumatori Danjiri Festival, where 11 danjiri floats made between the Meiji and Taisho eras gather for a purification ceremony and a parade, creating a grand celebration.
