Sakai City's Nishi Ward is known as a residential area and a commuter town, but agriculture, including tomatoes, potatoes, and onions, is also practiced here. At Otori Taisha Shrine, 100,000 irises are in full bloom in June. The Hanatsumi Festival is held in April, and the Danjiri Festival is held in October. Other attractions include Hibe Shrine, said to have been built in the 14th century, Kasaneo Hachiman Shrine, and Tozuka Kofun, part of the Yotsuzuka Kofun group, attracting many tourists. Minato Sakai Green Square features a flower hill and a lawn area, from which you can also view the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Hamadera Park boasts a rose garden and ample facilities, including a swimming pool, tennis courts, and baseball fields.
