Moriguchi City, Osaka Prefecture, is located slightly north of the prefecture's center and faces the Yodo River, making it a place rich in nature. In 2005, there was talk of merging with neighboring Kadoma City, but the plan did not come to fruition due to the strong opposition in a local referendum. The area is home to Sanyo Electric's headquarters, and Panasonic's headquarters straddles Kadoma City, making the city known as an electronics town. The city is conveniently located for shopping, with shopping malls and department stores. Moriguchi's tourist attractions include the Tsurumi Ryokuchi Flower Expo Memorial Park, where tulips bloom in the spring and cosmos bloom in the fall, and the Sakuyakonohanakan, one of Japan's largest greenhouses, where visitors can see approximately 2,600 species of plants.
