About Kawachinagano City
Kawachinagano City is located in the Minami Kawachi region of Osaka Prefecture. The Izumi Mountains lie to the south, crossing the border into Wakayama and Nara prefectures. The city is triangular in shape and is the third largest city in Osaka Prefecture. Approximately 70% of the land is covered by forest. The majority of the city is sandstone. The warm climate makes it ideal for growing crops. Tourist attractions include the nostalgic streets of the Koyasan Highway, historical buildings, Kongoji Temple, and Kannonji Temple. The city is also rich in natural beauty, including Mount Kamifuku, Mount Mikuni, and the 48 Takihata waterfalls. Outdoor activities are also available at Takihata Dam, which has a campground. The Kawachinagano Danjiri Festival, held in October, attracts visitors from far and wide. The Bunmawashi (traditional Japanese parade) performance, in which the floats are spun, is a spectacular sight.
