About Kashiwara City
Kashiwara City, Osaka Prefecture, borders Yao City and Nara Prefecture. Located almost in the central eastern part of the prefecture, the city is home to many ruins and ancient tombs. Grapes are a local specialty, and with a wide variety of varieties, grape-picking is available from August to October. The city offers many recreational areas for local residents, including playgrounds, museums, centers, and gymnasiums. Tourist attractions include Takao Mountain Creative Forest, selected as one of Osaka's 100 Green Tops, and Tamateyama Park, where beautiful cherry blossoms bloom in the spring. Local events include the Yamatogawa Koinobori Festival, held in the spring, where hundreds of carp streamers flutter along the riverbank; the Ogata Street Summer Festival in the summer; and the Kashiwara Citizens' General Festival in the fall.
