About Kadomashi
Kadoma City, Osaka Prefecture, borders Osaka City and Moriguchi City, and was known as Kadoma-so during the Sengoku period. This town is home to the headquarters of a major corporation. The local mascot is Ren-chan, a fairy born from the lotus root fields of Kadoma. Kadoma City's tourist attractions include Mishima Shrine, home to the Kungai Camphor tree, a national natural monument and one of Osaka's 100 best green spots, and the Sunako Waterway, where you can enjoy cherry blossoms in full bloom in spring, also selected as one of Osaka's 100 best green spots. The town also boasts many other historic sites. Local specialties include lotus root and arrowheads. These are often used in osechi dishes and other New Year's dishes. They are in season in winter, and have become famous thanks to improved varieties.
