About Higashiosaka City

Higashiosaka City, designated as a core city, is located in the Nakagawachi region of Osaka Prefecture. Most of the city area is made up of gentle lowlands. Neighboring municipalities include Osaka City, Daito City, and Yao City. A tourist attraction is the Shiba Ryotaro Memorial Museum. His home has been preserved as it was, and his study can be viewed from the outside, just as it was during his lifetime. Other attractions include Konoike Shinden, a national historic site, as well as the Ikeshima Fukumanji ruins and the Uryuudo settlement ruins. The city is also home to Kintetsu Hanazono Rugby Stadium, the venue for the nationally famous All Japan High School Rugby Football Tournament. The city flower is the plum blossom, and the citizen's flower is the bellflower. Specialties of the region include chrysanthemums and cotton, and souvenirs include rugby merchandise and flower rug manju.
