About Fujiidera City

Located in the Minamikawa region of Osaka City, Fujiidera City is the fifth smallest city in Japan by area. It is approximately 15 km from Osaka City. The city is located in the southeastern part of the Osaka Plain, with gently sloping terrain. Tourist attractions include the Hasamiyama Ruins, home to the remains of Japan's oldest dwelling, the Kokufu Ruins, and the Furuichi Kofun Group. The city boasts numerous cultural assets, including sculptures such as the National Treasure 11-faced Thousand-armed Kannon Seated Statue and the 11-faced Standing Kannon Statue, crafts attributed to Sugawara no Michizane, and the Important Cultural Property, the four-legged gate building of Kuzui-ji Temple. Learn about archaeology and history at the Aisel Shura Hall. The exterior of the building is designed with Shura and boat-shaped garden motifs. The Usokae Festival is held at Domyoji Tenmangu Shrine in January, and the Sennichimairi Festival is held at Kuzui-ji Temple in August.
