Wake Town, Wake District, is surrounded by the Kibi Plateau and is blessed with a rich natural environment. Its main industry is agriculture, which makes use of the rivers. The town produces mainly rice paddies, vegetables, and fruit. Thanks to the Seto Inland Sea climate, the town enjoys a warm climate throughout the year. The area is also home to Japan's largest wisteria park, where you can see many different types of wisteria. With these tourist attractions, wisteria has become the town's symbol. The Wamonji Yaki Festival, held every August, is an event held on the same day as Kyoto's Daimonji Okuribi. It takes place on Mt. Kannon, which is located in the area, and features a fireworks display at the finale.
