Naka Ward, Okayama City, is the most densely populated of the city's four administrative wards. With improved transportation access, residential development is underway, and the population is growing year by year. Despite this urbanization, the area's rich natural environment remains strong, with rare species such as the Ayumodoki fish, designated as a natural monument, and fireflies confirmed to inhabit the area. There are also many rural areas, offering tranquil scenery. Major tourist attractions include Tokoen Garden, one of Okayama Prefecture's oldest gardens; the Yumeji Local Art Museum, known for its retro architecture; and Tatsunokuchi Green Shower Park, located in a corner of the Tatsunokuchi Mountain National Forest.
